PON Visits

PON currently visit twenty one (21) prisons (HMPS), young offender institutions (YOIs) and Immigration Removal Centres (IRCs) across London and the South and South East of England. A list of the prisons we visit can be seen in our newsletter.

PON works alongside the Prison Chaplains, conducting the morning chapel service on Sundays. There are also regular mid week bible studies holding in some prisons. Occasionally there are opportunities to hold workshops and concerts which are also packed out and a great success.

If you, or your group are interested in joining PON, or if you  are an artist / musician / performer who would like to visit a prison as our guest, please submit your details in the “contact us” section,  and we will be happy to discuss your requirements.  We would suggest you attend one of our regular monthly meetings and training sessions.

PON is a proud member of the International Network of Prison Ministries (INPM).

PON Protocol & Training

Anyone visiting HMPs, YOIs and IRCs  must adhere to the Government  and Prison Service   Regulations, a    failure to do so could result in a ban on an individual or groups, a  significant fine or even imprisonment for the individual who has committed the offence.

As an organisation  of long standing experience within the prisons, we have also developed our own comprehensive training course and protocol which incorporates the Government Prison Regulations, coupled with lessons gained from our own experience.

It is mandatory for all PON members to attend a training day and participate in update sessions.  There are at least 2 full training sessions per year.  Training is currently free of charge to active PON members.
